The project in a nutshell
The project is aimed at overcoming the limitations of using homemade floating chambers for gas flux measurements at the air-water interface of water bodies. These limitations include i) the operational burden and ii) the easy contamination of the sample volume during deployment. The goal is to design an efficient, automated, low-cost floating chamber able to acquire good quality gas flux measurements through automated flushing of the sampling volume. The prototype will be equipped with a CO2 sensor and tested at the LéXPLORE, but its use can be extended to other water bodies and gasses.
