On 24th March 2022, the second LéXPLORE workshop took place at EPFL with over 50 researchers. After postponing two workshops due to the COVID-19, it was a great opportunity to learn more about 21 ongoing projects, through presentations and dynamic 3 min poster pitches. The poster session was also a success, and allowed fruitful discussions among the researchers.
The workshop also showed an exhibition of the pictures from the researches. The participants voted for the best pictures, selecting three pictures awarded for the category platform/instrumentation and people at work. The images taken during the workshop reflect the collaborative atmosphere.
Overall, this workshop was a wonderful time for networking, and provided an inspiring overview of the diverse research programs on the LéXPLORE platform. We are confident that such event will help to increase the synergies and collaborations between the multiple projects from different disciplines. We look forward to the next meeting in 2023!
Nov 2019: First annual workshop
On 13th November 2019, the steering committee organized the first workshop around LéXPLORE at UNIL in Géopolis building. A great success with over 50 participants! The day was divided between presentations of the first results and presentation of new projects for 2020, each were followed by answers to questions. Three discussion groups came up with propositions on data management, education and use of new technology.
The 13 projects showed a large multidisciplinarity, ranging from ecology, physics, biogeochemistry, robotics and micro-engineering. A least 3 projects will develop and test new technologies. This conference allowed great networking opportunities for researchers and promoted future collaborations.
