Quantifying the Zooplankton link in lakes: Lake GENeva as a sandbox (GEN-Z)

The project in a nutshell
Our project studies zooplankton to quantify their ecological and biogeochemical link in lakes. We conduct biweekly and 24hr samplings at various depths to uncover vertical migratory patterns, taxa structure and population dynamics. Using conventional (plankton nets, ADCP) and exploratory tools (green lidar), we investigate zooplankton’s horizontal and vertical variability. We also aim to quantify zooplankton’s influence on nutrient and detrital fluxes using modeling and imaging tools.
