The project in a nutshell
Longterm deployments of landers on lake beds can provide valuable data. Once they are deployed however, retrieving data or simply verifying the status of the lander or changing parameters becomes very difficult. Typically, this requires recovering the lander, offloading and/or making the required changes and redeploying it.
This project will see a low-cost ROV being fitted with a LUMA 250LP optical modem which allows for data download and parameters changes without recovering and redeploying.
