The project in a nutshell
CoWaS is part of the GenoRobotics interdisciplinary project, which aims at developing portable devices enabling field DNA analysis. The overall goals are to enhance biodiversity identification and monitoring capabilities, to support preservation efforts and to promote transversal education. The objective of the CoWaS project is to work towards continuous biodiversity monitoring of aqueous environments by developing an automated instrument for water sampling and DNA extraction.
